Okay, everyone, sorry for the delay. Things are starting to settle down in the Other World, so it's time to start focusing on this mess.
Here is the tentative layout: I will be writing and putting out a sampling of the types of shows I want to put out. Once I get them out, I would like feedback on the shows themselves, and also your choices for which one or two shows I should focus on.
Here are the shows, in no particular order:
Cover to Cover - This is a full CD review, track by track. I will review CD's of any stripe, usually out-there or genuinely bad ones, but occasionally, I'll use this show to show off a CD that was severely underrated during its release that I love, and will show you why. I'll probably focus on bad ones, though, like the one I have in mind for the debut.
Top 7 - Your basic top X list. The first one will give you an idea of my musical tastes and my sense of humor, and the second one will attack one of my own sacred cows...
Covering Covers - This one highlights cover songs, good, bad, and ugly, comparing them to the original and seeing how they stand on their own. My first one will be the triple-feature I advertised earlier.
Jack Analyzes the Lyrics - This one is, I think, going to be the most fun (for me, anyway). I take a song and go over it with a fine-toothed comb, making fun of the lyrical choices. The first one is from a beloved CD of mine, and trust me: there'll be a LOT going on
So there you go! I'll get started on the first script pronto, and will give regular status updates on this post.

Pandora opens her box. (shaddap!)
Okay, people, this is freaky.
I was just listening to Pandora on my 'droid while trying to squeeze in some yardwork before the rains came.
They played Disturbed's cover of "Shout" off of The Sickness, which is a pretty cool song.
The next song in the queue: "Shout" by Tears for Fears.
You think the spirits are trying to tell me something? Or at least Pandora?
The stars have aligned: I'm at a good stopping point on Humanity, Intuition, and Darkness (Read more here), I'm listening to more music instead of playing out scenes in my head, now this?
Oh, yeah.
Cover to Cover. Coming sooner rather than later.
Be afraid. ^^

Delay of game: 5 yard penalty
Hey, all.
I am starting to realize how much work this is actually going to be. It's probably going to be another month before I can start on the first blog entry, mainly because I'm going to have to do this as at least a voice, if not full-on videro blog due to the need to compare songs and play clips and such.
I don't want to do this unless I do it right. If anything changes, I'll post.
Anyway, see ya soon!

Major purchases
I spent a great deal of time at the local used music seller and purchased a crapload of CD's to lay into. Here's some things I picked up:
Van Halen: Self-titled, 5150, and VH 3. I also have 1984 on order from half.com, paving the way for Van Halen month, which will show the devolution of Van Halen into Van Hagar and whatever 3 was...
Metallica: Kill 'em All, Ride teh Lightning, and St. Anger, thus completing for the most part my Metallica collection. I may do a Metallica collection once I get a non-censored version of Garage, Inc. (I hate Wal-Mart)
DMB : Crash and Prince & teh Revolution: Purple Rain. CD's I've always wanted.
Plus everything I need for my first three months' worth of episodes.
I also picked up a copy of Sky Captain and teh World of Tomorrow for when I need my TORG fix. (I'll probably start a TORG blog or somesuch to describe my love for this game.)
Well, I've rambled long enough. Off to work to start the show!

Hello, World!
Welcome to Cover to Cover!
Yes, I'm latching firmly on to the "I can make a review blog too!" bandwagon. At least I admit my lack of originality.
On this blog, I will be reviewing albums and/or songs. What makes this review blog special (to me, anyways), is that I will be reviewing entire albums cover to cover (hence the title) interspersed with review of cover songs (another tie in to the title). The plan is, at first anyway, will be to post one review a week, with the first review of the month being the review of a cover song, followed by a review of an album I like, then one I'm indifferent about, then one I hate.
For the albums that I plan to review, I will try to avoid compilations like greatest hits or soundtracks, but I do plan sometime in the future to review Instant Karma, which is an album of nothing but John Lennon covers, some good, some okay, some bad. (Avril Lavigne doing Imagine? Really?)
And as for the cover songs, I intend to do only those released on published albums (no bootlegs or whatnot, sorry). For this, I will bend my rule on using soundtracks and compilations, primarily because most cover songs are done for soundtracks.
I'm not sure if I will do this as a video blog any time in the future, so I will start out as a text blog until I get a rhythm going. If enough interest exists, I will do one video to see if it is accepted. I will probably just re-do one text blog in video format, adding in song clips, video clips, funny internet memes, etc.
As it stands now, here is my schedule, starting the first week of July:
July:
Week 1: Debut! Depeche Mode triple-cover review - Marilyn Manson, Lacuna Coil, A Perfect Circle
Week 2: Queensryche - "Operation: Mindcrime"
Week 3: "Weird Al" Yankovic - "Straight Outta Lynwood"
Week 4: Genesis - "Calling All Stations"
August:
Week 1: Cover - A Perfect Circle: "Imagine"
Week 2: Fastball - "All the Pain Money Can Buy"
Week 3: Franz Ferdinand - "Franz Ferdinand"
Week 4: Michael Jackson - "Invincible"
September - Fiona Apple month!
Week 1: Cover - "Across the Universe"
Week 2: "Tidal"
Week 3: "When the Pawn..."
Week 4: "Extraordinary Machine" (A birthday present to myself)
Well, I hope you stay tuned! I just hope I can keep this up! ^_^;
